Description
Assma, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Megha-Laya, Manipur, Mizoam are seven relatively unexplored and isolated India states, bordering China, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Myanmar. Integration of these areas into the mainstream of Indian state had always been a problem and reason for armed insurgencies in these areas for a separate identity. Of all the armed groups the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) is quite powerful fighting for an Independent Assam. Despite many assaults conducted by the Government of India a total silencing of the organization could not be achieved. However , dialogue has begun between a section of the ULFA Leadership and the Government of India. But there are doubts about the outcomes of the process as the organization stands divided.
